Why Am I Coughing?
Megan’s customers ask…
Q: My new set-up is making me cough! What’s wrong?
A: Many people that make the switch from cigarettes to vaping experience coughing the first few days. Vapor is denser than smoke so there is an adjustment period. New vapers typically adapt to the difference in a couple of days, but sometimes it does takes a little bit longer. If you notice that you continue to cough while vaping on your new device or it is just plain uncomfortable, don’t be discouraged. Come back in and chat with us! There are many options to help customize your set-up to work better for you. One consideration is to determine if your level of nicotine is appropriate. Sometimes the nicotine or PG/VG ratio that you initially select might not be perfect for you, but that is an easy fix and might be the solution to making vaping much more enjoyable! The device you are using can also contribute to coughing. In fact, many users also cough when they first switch to a sub-ohm device. Although some people might benefit from switching to a more basic device, many ex-smokers find that they are more successful switching to electronic cigarettes with sub-ohm devices that deliver nicotine more quickly. Sometimes it is just a matter of adjusting the settings on your device to find what is best for you. Finding the right combination of e-liquid and hardware may be the key. Come in to either of our locations and our employees are more than happy to assist you in making your transition to vaping a smooth and successful one!
